Job Overview

Do you have experience of working in an acute NHS Trust with previous band 5 rotational experience? Are you looking for the next step in your career?

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic physiotherapist wanting to develop further rehabilitation skills.

We offer 8 monthly exciting rotations through ED, Medical, Stroke, ESD and Farnham Community Rehab Hospital. We offer excellent opportunities for training and development.

Main duties of the job
  • To complete 8 monthly rotations through Stroke Unit, Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD), Farnham Community Hospital Rehab wards, Emergency Department (ED) and the Medical Wards.
  • To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in assessing and treating patients who may have an acute, complex presentation.
  • To work alongside and communicate with Primary care providers and community services to ensure a safe rapid assessment and discharge of patients in an acute, fast paced environment.
  • To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists / technicians / assistants and students and be involved in teaching MDT staff.
  • To participate in CPD and other departmental activities.

Job Description And Main Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for implementing within your clinical practice relevant standards and procedures.
  • To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients including those with complex presentation using investigative and analytical skills. To seek guidance from senior staff as required.
  • To maintain a high standard of clinical care using evidence based practices and evaluate the outcomes.
  • To devise an individualised physiotherapy management and/or treatment plan, using clinical reasoning skills to utilise a range of treatment options in formulating a specialised programme of care.
  • To assess and manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
Person specification Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • HCPC Registration
  • Physiotherapy Degree

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of Clinical Educator Course
  • Member of specialist interest group
Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Computer literacy
  • Evidence of good clinical reasoning
  • Evidence of teamwork
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Organisational skills

Desirable criteria

  • Facilitation skills
  • Supervisory and appraisal skills.
  • Teaching skills
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of Band 5 rotations including respiratory rotation
  • Evidence of providing teaching or presentation
  • Evidence of supervision of junior/unregistered staff
  • Understanding of working in NHS

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of service development project or research
  • Evidence at a Band 6 level
