Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
About the role
As a Maintenance Surveyor, you will deliver repairs and voids maintenance services for properties within your allocated patch, collaborating with teams and contractors to provide high‑quality, timely repairs. The role combines site visits and desk‑based work and focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and well‑maintained homes for residents.
- Perform on‑site visits to customer homes to assess repair needs and identify hazards such as damp and mould.
- Use knowledge of domestic building construction, HHSRS, and the schedule of rates to qualify repairs.
- Raise and track repairs in the bespoke Housing Management System, updating the customer account through to completion.
- Uphold the Empty Homes (Voids) standard to deliver first‑class quality homes on schedule.
- Collaborate with contractors, housing teams, and internal colleagues to improve service efficiency and enhance customer experience.
- Identify and address hazards in line with Awaab's Law, ensuring health‑related repairs are not delayed.
Spot salary: £42,009 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements. Candidates who are still developing some skills may start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.
Additional compensation includes an 8% regional uplift (£3,361 per annum) and an essential user car allowance starting at £1,250 per annum.
About you- HNC in Building (or equivalent) or relevant experience in maintenance and construction.
- Strong understanding of building design, building fabrics, associated life cycles, contract performance, and budget management.
- Excellent customer focus, communication skills, and ability to interpret building legislation.
- Proficiency in operational software for property management.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.

Hybrid, Camberley & surrounding areas with occasional travel to Ashford, Kent. Permanent role, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm, plus on‑call as required.
