Neonatal Staff Nurse (Open to Newly Qualified Nurses)
This is an exciting opportunity for nurses who are passionate and enthusiastic about neonatal care to join our team.
The Neonatal Unit at Frimley Park Hospital is a Local Neonatal Unit made up of 2 Intensive Care, 3 High Dependency and 11 Special Care cots. The unit cares for babies over 26+6 weeks gestation and stabilises any baby under that gestation, to be transferred to a tertiary hospital/NICU.
We are in a position to be able to support an experienced neonatal nurse to undertake the QIS course in 2024.
Our team aspires to provide high quality and evidence based; clinical, developmental and family integrated care in order to ensure the best outcomes for our babies and their families.
Main Duties- To provide the highest quality care for babies and their families.
- To assist the senior nursing staff in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of paediatric care for an allocated group of patients from admission through to discharge or transfer.
- Assess, prioritise, plan, deliver and evaluate safe and competent and specialised neonatal family‑centred care to the babies, throughout the unit.
- This will include intensive, high dependency and special care and will be done under the supervision of senior nursing staff.
- Act as an advocate and resource for nursing, medical and allied professionals to ensure that the most appropriate and specialist neonatal nursing care is delivered at all times.
- Maintain legible, timely and complete records that are kept in a safe environment in accordance with Trust policy, NMC Code of Conduct and national guidance.
- Registered Nurse / Midwife / Child Branch / RSCN
- Evidence of continuing education & professional development
- Degree in Nursing or other relevant field or can demonstrate experience of working to this level
- Specialty qualification – Intensive Care of the Newborn or equivalent
- Child Protection Training
- Able to prioritise and work in an organised way with excellent time management skills
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- IT Literate
- Some experience of working with families
- Working in acute care in a hospital setting
- Experience in neonatal or paediatric nursing

£30,983 to £37,716 a year INCL HCAS
