We are searching for motivated and enthusiastic Registered Children's Nurses who are passionate about delivering safe, high quality care to patients and their families with a progressive and innovative mindset for continuous service improvements.
This role is open to newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026. Please note this is a fixed term 1 year maternity cover post.
Main duties of the job- Care for Children and Young People aged from 5 days to 18 years old, across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, within a unique, caring and inclusive team.
- The ward offers a wide range of experience, caring for children and young people with medical and surgical conditions. The ward has 26 beds (including a 4 bedded Level 1 HDU and designated teenage beds) and an 8 bedded Paediatric Assessment Unit attached.
- Promote strong interdepartmental and cross-site working relationships with Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals.
- Provide safe, high quality, patient-centred care to children and families as a main responsibility.

Person Specification Experience- Current paediatric experience
- Awareness of research and evidence and implications for practice
- Knowledge of key principles of paediatric care and implications for practice
- Monitors and contributes to protecting children and young people at risk, and supports children who have been abused
- Participation in audit activity
- Registered Sick Children's Nurse (NMC Part 1, Children)
- Uses clinical judgment and decision making about nursing care requirements
- Plans, delivers, evaluates and records care with minimal supervision from an experienced practitioner
- Supports children, young people, parents and families to cope with changes in health and well-being
- Reinforces basic information and supports students' learning of skills and knowledge in clinical practice

Salary: £33,677 to £40,996 per year, inclusive of HCAs
