As part of our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team, you will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties, including

• General Surgery
• Orthopaedics and Trauma
• Vascular and Spinal Surgery
• Gynaecology and Obstetrics
• Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)

The team also supports a busy Day Surgery Unit and Radiology service, with dedicated paediatric and obstetric recovery areas. In addition, you will contribute to the care of Level 1 and Level 2 patients requiring extended recovery or overnight monitoring, ensuring safe and effective post-operative care.

Essential criteria

• Registered General Nurse Level 1
• Current NMC registration
• IV certification

Desirable criteria

• ENB 998/ teaching and assessing course or Mentor prep
• Relevant Recovery/HDU/Critical care course or qualification

Essential criteria

• Relevant post registration experience
• Flexible working
• Working with patient information systems

Desirable criteria

• Recent PACU/Theatre/HDU/ICU
• Good computer skills

Essential criteria

• Experience of effective collaborative working with multi disciplinary teams
• Nursing knowledge and clinical skills based on up-to-date best practice

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working with children/young people
