Main duties of the jobAs part of our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team, you will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anaesthesia and surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties, including
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedics and Trauma
- Vascular and Spinal Surgery
- Gynaecology and Obstetrics
- Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
The team also supports a busy Day Surgery Unit and Radiology service, with dedicated paediatric and obstetric recovery areas. In addition, you will contribute to the care of Level 1 and Level 2 patients requiring extended recovery or overnight monitoring, ensuring safe and effective post-operative care.

Person specification QualificationsEssential criteria
- Registered General Nurse Level 1
- Current NMC registration
- IV certification
Desirable criteria
- ENB 998/ teaching and assessing course or Mentor prep
- Relevant Recovery/HDU/Critical care course or qualification
Essential criteria
- Relevant post registration experience
- Flexible working
- Working with patient information systems
Desirable criteria
- Recent PACU/Theatre/HDU/ICU
- Good computer skills
Essential criteria
- Experience of effective collaborative working with multi disciplinary teams
- Nursing knowledge and clinical skills based on up-to-date best practice
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with children/young people
