As part of the exciting and innovative developments across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we are delighted to offer a Band 6 vacancy for an enthusiastic and committed Diabetes Nurse Specialist to join our expanding team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of our 7‑day inpatient diabetes service, contributing to the day‑to‑day clinical care, education, and support of patients with diabetes across our hospital sites. You will work alongside a friendly, multidisciplinary team including consultants, dietitians, and other specialist nurses.
About YouWe are looking for a qualified, NMC-registered nurse with a strong interest or experience in diabetes care. You should be confident in working autonomously within a team, have excellent communication skills, and a desire to develop your clinical expertise in a specialist setting.

Person specification QualificationsEssential criteria
- Current NMC registration
- ENB 998 teaching and assessing course or equivalent mentorship preparation course e.g., C & G 730
- To have a recognised diabetes course
- Diabetes in healthcare online training
Desirable criteria
- Possess a relevant Nursing Degree or be willing to work towards one
Essential criteria
- Previous post registration NHS experience in a diabetes environment
- Teaching and supervising of junior staff and students
- Working with IT systems e.g., patient centre, RIO
