Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Assurance Assistant located in Frimley. This role offers the opportunity to join the BLC QC team, supporting the Technical & QC Manager in maintaining our food safety and quality management systems. You’ll work across a broad range of product and ingredient categories and manufacturing sites, collaborating closely with colleagues in NPD, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

The role requires a detail-oriented approach and a commitment to maintaining product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage certifications for raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across UK, EU, and international markets.
  • Support supplier audits and drive corrective actions to uphold high standards.
  • Oversee specifications, approvals, and supplier documentation for a wide range of raw materials.
Problem‑Solving
  • Lead investigations into supplier non‑conformances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Finished Product Management
  • Maintain the reference sample library.
Product Testing
  • Coordinate submission of samples to laboratories and support the NPD team with organoleptic assessments of finished products.
What you’ll need
  • A background in food Science, food Tech or something similar with 1 - 2 years in the industry.
  • Experience working with specifications.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally and with suppliers.
  • A proactive, can‑do attitude and eagerness to learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of UK/EU food safety standards and regulatory frameworks (desirable).
