Lead Tax Reviewer

Responsibilites include:

• Review individual income tax returns prepared by other tax professionals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
• Identify errors, missing information, and potential tax issues; provide clear feedback and recommendations for corrections.
• Research complex tax matters and ensure appropriate application of tax laws and regulations.
• Review tax calculations, deductions, credits, and tax planning strategies.
• Communicate with tax preparers and clients as needed to resolve questions and obtain additional information.
• Oversee return review workflows to ensure quality, consistency, and timely filing.
• Provide technical guidance and support to tax preparers on complex tax situations.
• Maintain compliance with firm procedures, client engagement standards, and document retention requirements.

Qualifications include:

• Extensive experience reviewing individual income tax returns, including complex returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state individual income tax laws, deductions, credits, and tax planning strategies.
• Ability to identify errors, resolve tax issues, and ensure returns are accurate and compliant.
• Experience using professional tax software;
  Pro Connect Tax preferred.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback to tax preparers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines.
• Prior experience in a lead reviewer, senior tax accountant, or tax supervisor role preferred.
• CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or other relevant tax credentials preferred.
