Corporate CAD Manager – Civil Engineering at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN)
Join the LAN team as Corporate CAD Manager to oversee CAD standards, workflows, and technologies for municipal infrastructure and site development projects. The role ensures high-quality drafting deliverables, optimizes CAD software use, and collaborates with designers, engineers, and project managers to meet technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and enforce CAD standards specific to civil engineering (e.g., roadway, drainage, grading, utilities) using Autodesk Civil3D.
- Ensure drawings meet client specifications or LAN standards.
- Provide help resources and mentor CAD designers and project engineers in Autodesk Civil3D.
- Evaluate and implement new tools to improve design and production efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct training sessions on software updates, standards, and best practices.
- Structure training assessments for new and current staff; develop training courses using third‑party resources.
- Review and audit drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
- Implement QA/QC procedures for CAD deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Computer-Aided Drafting Technology Certification, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of CAD experience in civil engineering projects, with 2+ years in a leadership role preferred.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil3D and related civil design software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
This position can be based in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Frisco.
