Project Engineer​/Tolling Systems

Overview

Stelvio is Partnering with a client in the intelligent transportation and tolling technology sector, delivering complex Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions across large-scale infrastructure projects. The organisation designs, installs, and commissions integrated hardware and software systems supporting critical transport networks.

The Role

The Project Engineering Technologist will be responsible for engineering design activities supporting tolling and ITS projects, as well as providing hands-on support through implementation, delivery, and commissioning. The role works closely with project managers, engineering teams, and customers to ensure solutions are delivered in line with defined standards, schedules, and budgets.

• Develop engineering designs for systems incorporating electrical, electronic, mechanical components, sensors, and communications technologies
• Produce engineering documentation including system definitions, site layouts, construction drawings, power wiring, termination drawings, bills of materials, and installation drawings
• Prepare high-level design narratives to support formal design documentation submissions
• Support proposal activities through preliminary designs and engineering estimates
• Review customer technical and project requirement specifications
• Work with Project Managers to support engineering schedules and material budgets
• Carry out field surveys and provide support during installation, integration, commissioning, and R&D activities
• Support CAD development of electrical, civil, and mechanical layouts and working drawings
• Provide engineering support to purchasing, manufacturing, product development, and systems engineering teams from component selection through system configuration and testing
• Support the operation and maintenance of deployed customer systems
• Travel to customer sites to assess facilities and support installation and commissioning activities
• Participate in virtual and on-site customer meetings and design workshops
• Present project engineering designs and technical solutions to customers

• Experience in project engineering or engineering technologist roles
• Background working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, or communications-based systems
• Experience producing technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Comfortable supporting projects through design, installation, and commissioning phases
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
