Join our exciting team at Keurig Dr Pepper, a leading producer and distributor of hot and cold beverages.
The Manufacturing Facility & Line Design Engineer plays a critical role in the design, optimization, and long-term development of our manufacturing network. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining facility and production line layouts, supporting strategic decisions regarding equipment placement and future expansion, and establishing accurate and accessible CAD documentation across our manufacturing facilities.
This role will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and project teams to translate manufacturing requirements into practical facility and line designs. The individual will support both current capital projects and longer-term network planning by evaluating how new production lines, equipment, infrastructure, material flows, and supporting operations integrate within existing facilities.
A key responsibility of this role will also be establishing and maintaining a single, reliable source of truth for facility and production drawings, ensuring CAD files and associated documentation are accurate, organized, controlled, and readily accessible to teams across the organization.
TravelThis individual will travel primarily to North American operations, up to 50% of weeks.
Responsibilities:Manufacturing Facility & Line Design
- Develop and maintain manufacturing facility master layouts, production line layouts, and equipment arrangement drawings.
- Create layout concepts for new production lines, equipment installations, capacity expansions, relocations, and facility modifications.
- Translate equipment, process, operational, material flow, and infrastructure requirements into coordinated facility designs.
- Evaluate alternative equipment and line configurations to identify layouts that best support operational efficiency, safety, maintainability, accessibility, and future flexibility.
- Support early-stage project development by determining where and how new manufacturing equipment can be incorporated within existing facilities
. - Partner with technical SMEs to incorporate utility, structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, controls, and other infrastructure requirements into overall facility layouts.
- Participate in design reviews throughout project development and execution to maintain alignment between approved layouts and final installations.
I would make this its own section because I think it elevates the position beyond a drafting function.
- Support development of a long-term manufacturing network layout strategy that considers current operations, future growth, capacity expansion, and facility constraints.
- Evaluate plant layouts holistically to identify opportunities to improve space utilization, material and people flow, equipment accessibility, operational efficiency, and future expansion capability.
- Develop conceptual layouts and scenarios that enable leadership and project teams to compare alternative manufacturing strategies before significant capital commitments are made.
- Help identify physical constraints, dependencies, and infrastructure considerations early in project development that may influence site selection, project scope, cost, or schedule.
- Maintain forward-looking facility concepts that provide visibility to how planned investments may affect future expansion opportunities.
The original description already has a strong foundation here, particularly its expectation to maintain drawings and a controlled database. But I would strengthen this significantly because it sounds like you want governance, not simply someone who can produce drawings.
