As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a residential location, you will help to deter security‑related incidents by monitoring and patrolling the community while providing excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
Your primary responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the area, and controlling access to the premises. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling the property by vehicle as part of your duties. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
- Assist residents, guests, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures at the residential location, following site‑specific policies and emergency response activities as needed.
- Monitor and control access to the residential community, verifying credentials and/or authorization for entry as required.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the community and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as directed by Allied Universal and site management.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all individuals encountered at the location, addressing concerns and/or inquiries in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site management to support a secure environment within the residential community.
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
- Experience providing customer service is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
