Responsibilities- Promotes the well-being of children in the Foster Care/Kinship Program, participates in staff meetings and trainings and coordinates with staff from other agencies involved in providing foster care services.
- Manages a caseload of Families seeking to become Kinship Foster Homes.
- Manages recruitment activities and coordination with other foster care/kinship staff and agencies.
- Assists with application and inquiry processing to engage families quickly in training.
- Plans, arranges, and oversees foster home/kinship trainings for new homes.
- Monitors and assesses homes for initial verification.
- Assists in the orientation, assessment, and verification of foster/kinship parents.
- Attends case planning conferences at required intervals.
- Conducts foster home/kinship visits.
- Provides 24 hour on-call support to foster/kinship parents and provides crisis intervention when required.
- Coordinates community resources for the benefit of children served by the Foster Care/kinship Program.
- Accomplishes placement of children in properly trained and licensed homes.
- Coordinates with intake and other appropriate staff on the placement of children.
- Completes documentation and forwards reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content.
- Coordinates with the Agency’s licensing staff to ensure regulatory compliance by care providers. Reviews and monitors current licensing standards with care providers.
- Coordinates with Agency program staff and staff from external public and private agencies on the delivery of services to children and families.
- Will be required to drive personal or agency vehicles while transporting children or conducting agency business. You must possess a valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency vehicles and/or transporting clients.
- Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
- Advocates, promotes, and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
- Develops, promotes, and practices teamwork in all activities.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Social Work preferred. Employees must meet one of the following options:
- Option 1: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other human services field and nine credit hours in graduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction and one year of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities (may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities).
- Option 2: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university and nine credit hours in graduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction and two years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities (may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities).
- Option 3: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other human services field; and nine credit hours in undergraduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction and two years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities (may include a maximum of 350 hours of formal, supervised field placement or practicum in child-placing activities).
- Option 4: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and nine credit hours in undergraduate level courses that focus on family and individual function and interaction and three years of documented full-time work experience in a child-placing agency conducting child-placing activities; or direct supervision from a child placement management staff with 10 documented, monthly, face-to-face, individual, case-related conferences per year until the combined…
