Location – Frome, South-West (Hybrid working options)

Temp to Perm Vacancy (Initially 6-months contract)

TEMPORARY Day Rate – Up-to £350 / day

Salary – £45k – 60K (depending on experience) once perm.

A Quantity Surveyor is required to join a medium sized Civils Contractor on a temp-to-perm basis in Frome. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to manage costs and ensure the financial success of their surfacing, highways, and other civils projects, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and contract compliance.

• Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
• Conducting detailed cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Administering NEC and JCT forms of contract, ensuring compliance and managing variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage commercial relationships.
• Measuring and valuing completed work.
• Processing payments and resolving any commercial disputes.
• Working closely with the site teams to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Liaising with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Assisting in tender preparation.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent), have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working on highways, surfacing, or civil engineering within a contractor environment, have knowledge on NEC and JCT forms of contracts, be proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office, and have a full UK driving license. You will also have excellent skills in commercial awareness, negotiation, communication, team working, attention to detail and be able to work under pressure.
