Teaching Assistant – Newbury Manor School

Newbury Manor School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join our Education team. We look for versatile, resilient, and committed candidates who can adapt their practice across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting pupils with their work, supporting behaviour, establishing good relationships, acting as a role model, and responding to individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with their work.
  • Support pupil behaviour and classroom management.
  • Build positive relationships with students and serve as a role model.
  • Respond to individual pupil needs and support learning plans.
Qualifications

Must have the right to work in the UK. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including Disclosure & Barring Service checks and at least two references covering the last 3 years.

Newbury Manor School is a specialist school for young people aged 7 to 19 with autistic spectrum disorders. Our tailored approach supports a wide range of needs, from average ability to more severe learning difficulties. The school is located in a beautiful, quiet rural setting in the outskirts of Somerset (Frome region) in a Georgian manor house with extensive grounds.
