Certo Aerospace is developing a heavy-lift coaxial UAV platform, and we're looking for an experienced engineer to take technical ownership of the mechanical performance and development of its rotor head system.
This is a hands-on R&D position combining advanced CAE, rotor-system engineering and technical leadership.
You'll have the freedom to understand the system from first principles, build the models, influence the design, validate it physically and ultimately see the aircraft fly.
The MissionYou'll lead rotor-head development from concept through analysis, test and validation, including:
Structural FEA, Rotor Dynamics, DVP, Physical Testing, Development of CAE methods etc.
You'll work directly with Design, Manufacturing, Test and external suppliers, giving you genuine influence over the complete engineering lifecycle.
You'll ideally bring:
- Significant rotorcraft or complex mechanical systems experience
- Proven experience analysing/developing rotor head control assemblies
- Advanced structural FEA / CAE capability
- Strong understanding of loads, structural dynamics and fatigue
- Experience correlating simulation with physical testing
- CAD/CAE tools such as ANSYS, Hyper Works and/or Solid Works
- The ability to lead technical decisions and mentor other engineers
Experience with rotorcraft transmissions, aeroelasticity, multibody dynamics, MATLAB/Python, test rigs or airworthiness/certification would be particularly valuable.
Why Certo? This is an opportunity to move beyond contributing to a subsystem and take ownership of one
.
You'll join a small, established aerospace design team developing a genuine aircraft, with the autonomy to introduce new methods, challenge existing thinking and see your analysis progress all the way through to physical testing and flight.
