Multi Skilled Operative – Halecombe Quarry & Asphalt Plant, Frome

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious operative to join our team at the Tarmac Halecombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant in Frome, Somerset. The role is open to candidates from the surrounding areas including Nunney, Shepton Mallet, Warminster, Trowbridge, Bath, Midsomer Norton, Gillingham, Glastonbury and nearby communities.

• Work with team members to deliver high‑quality material and on‑time deliveries to customers.
• Operate mobile plant equipment and support production targets.
• Help the Supervisor meet daily and weekly production goals.
• Ensure plant operations comply with safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Perform plant inspections, address defects, and implement remedial actions.
• Assist with the maintenance regime for plant equipment.
• Maximise plant availability through effective support activities.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.

• Knowledge of plant operations, ideally with experience in quarry or mobile plant settings.
• Desirable:
  Shovel licence.
• Flexible and able to work as part of a cohesive multi‑skilled team.
• Self‑motivated and capable of motivating colleagues.
• Good time‑keeping and flexible to meet unit requirements.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to raise issues with line management.
• Full UK driving licence.
• IT literacy.

Previous experience as a Multi‑Skilled Operative in an Asphalt Plant is highly beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided.
