Staff Nurse

Overview

Frome ward is a 35 bedded General Surgical ward that receives emergency General Surgical patients from A&E and clinics, plus repatriated patients. You will care for acutely unwell patients, some of whom will be pre–post ITU, working closely with the Critical Care Outreach team, the Uro-Oncology & Colo-Rectal CNS Teams and the Therapy teams to facilitate timely discharges and effective patient flow.

Candidates must have a PIN with the NMC or be awaiting registration.

• Facilitate multidisciplinary, patient-centred care in the role of named nurse / team leader.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Take responsibility for the management and leadership of the ward/department in the absence of the senior nurse.
• Participate in the supervision and teaching of staff and students.
