Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Full Time at Valley Health

• Use the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation) and time management to provide patient care.
• Ensure quality communication, teamwork, and professional leadership.
• Direct, coordinate, and implement patient teaching, quality and safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Medical/Surgical - 256020

• Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN, or ADN) required.
• BSN preferred.

• Advancement to RN II requires a minimum of 1872 full-time or part-time hours (936 if hold BSN) of RN experience and completion of a performance evaluation.
• Completion of yearly mandatory competencies and unit-specific competencies as identified by leadership.
• Participation in Professional Practice Ladder requirements, including Charge Nurse responsibilities, PI activities, and department initiatives.

• RN License required; must be licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia (Nurse Licensure Compact or single-state license valid in Virginia).
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) required prior to orientation completion.
• Relevant specialty certification preferred.

• Meets all requirements of an RN I and is competent to provide care across developmental stages using the nursing process.
• Must have reliable phone communication with the hospital.
