Adjunct Lecturers – English First-Year Composition and Business Writing – China
Frostburg State University seeks part-time Adjunct Lecturers to teach English Composition in person at its partner institution, Hunan University of Technology and Business, Changsha, China. Positions are offered for the summer six‑week term (late May‑early July) and/or the fall eight‑week term (September‑early November). The role requires delivering courses to 55‑65 students per section, with a compensation of $10,000 per course comprising two sections.
Responsibilities- Design, teach, and assess first‑year composition and business writing courses in an in‑person setting.
- Develop and adapt course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessment instruments.
- Engage students in active learning, provide timely feedback, and support diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate course records, including attendance and grades, in compliance with university policies.
- Contribute to the academic mission of Frostburg State University and its partner campus through professional development and collegial collaboration.
- Master’s degree in English or a related discipline.
- Previous teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated proficiency in first‑year composition and business writing instruction.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success.
$10,000 per course (two sections of 55‑65 students each). The position is open until filled.
