Annual Salary: $45,375 (or $21.75 per hour)

Under general supervision, performs semi‑skilled tasks in building construction and maintenance requiring the application of general knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools, and equipment. May work independently on assigned shift. The position is slated to start during the Spring semester.

• Provide maintenance support for USMH under direction of the Business Manager.
• Support the Executive Director in effective operations of the regional higher education center.
• Plan, coordinate, and fabricate new building projects.
• Coordinate and support vendors to ensure all mechanical components of the center are fully operational and maintained.
• Collaborate with contractual maintenance and housekeeping staff to complete projects.
• Work independently on assigned shift.

• Four years related work experience, three years in the assigned trade area.

• General knowledge of and skill in building construction or maintenance and repair practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge and skill in the use of tools and equipment.
• Skill in inspecting, adjusting, repairing, and replacing building fixtures and mechanical equipment.

• General knowledge of and skill in a variety of semi‑skilled building construction or maintenance and repair practices and techniques in the trade areas where assigned.
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to the assigned trade areas.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills.
• Preparation of estimates of time and materials required for assigned work.
• Application of quality and safety standards.
• Maintenance of logs, records, and reports.
• Work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment or machinery.
• Work at heights up to 35 feet.
• Manipulate heavy equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Operate multiple controls on machinery and equipment simultaneously.
• Work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, adverse weather or temperature conditions.
• Wear and work while using personal protective equipment.
