Cashier, Customer Service​/HelpDesk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's cash handling limits and control loss effectively.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions or accidents and notify management.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Customer service experience.
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
