DescriptionAbout Family Health West
Family Health West was founded in 1946 and operates as a 25-bed critical access hospital and one of the largest rehab providers in western Colorado, with outpatient services, specialty clinics, emergency services, skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities.
Nestled at the base of the Colorado National Monument, the area offers outdoor opportunities and a welcoming community culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reliable and punctual attendance; be present as scheduled.
- Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
- Provide treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist and follow standards of physical medicine practice.
- Observe and evaluate treatment effects; discuss observations with staff physical therapist.
- Perform components of an appropriate assessment on each patient and reassess per policy, including adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.
- Assist with formulating a teaching plan based on learning needs; involve family as appropriate; notify staff physical therapist of conclusions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of discipline modalities.
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; be sensitive to psychosocial needs.
- Operate equipment safely; maintain department cleanliness and safety.
- Interact professionally with patients/families and involve them in the plan of care.
- Communicate clearly with physicians, facility staff, and department members.
- Coordinate patient care to meet needs and follow facility policy.
- Maintain records pertinent to department operation.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stress.
- Maintain good working relationships within and across departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve patient care and performance.
- Participate in infection control, equipment training, and safety programs.
- Participate in personal performance improvement and program development activities, including staff meetings.
- Meet current documentation standards and policies.
- Assist with orientation and in-service training for department staff; participate in guidance programs.
- Train personnel through on-the-job training for nursing and other hospital staff as well as departmental staff.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree (AA) from an accredited college or university program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is required.
LicensesCurrent State of Colorado PTA license in good standing.
CertificationsCurrent BLS certification.
ExperienceTwo years’ experience as a PTA with all levels of rehab across the age continuum preferred.
QualificationsThis position requires advanced therapy skills with additional specialized certifications including, but not limited to Dry Needling, Certified Hand Therapy, Sensory Integration, etc. Flexible scheduling and the ability to rotate multiple work locations owned or contracted with Family Health West.
WageWAGE starts at $28.31
