Job Description:
Job PurposeApplication design, development, implementation, technical documentation, testing, user support (including technical troubleshooting) of complex n-tier enterprise systems, maintenance and vendor support of banking applications, non-banking applications and interfaces so as to ensure that the IT service is delivered effectively and efficiently in compliance with policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and business needs and business processes are automated and integrated optimally.
Key AccountabilitiesApplication design, development, implementation, technical documentation, testing, user support (including technical troubleshooting) of complex n-tier enterprise systems.
Manage vendors for support and enhancement of 10 or more applications as per SLA or agreement.
Support Application Development to resolve any application issues.
Assist team leader/unit head in strategic/tactical issues.

Job Context
The Role holder reports to Sr Manager
- Core Banking, Payment and Risk Applications or Sr Manager
- Enterprise Integration or Manager-Risk Applications (As applicable) and co-ordinates with various departments regarding project prioritization, initiation, budgeting, implementation (requirement analysis, testing etc), support and enhancement for successful delivery and ongoing performance improvements.
MBA / CA / Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Masters in Computer Applications from a recognised institute / university
Experience and SkillsEducation level (Required/Equivalent)
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering/IT/Computer Applications.
Professional Qualifications (Desired)
- Formal Training/Certification in SDLC.
- Certification/Formal Training (Foundation/Basic Level) in Banking Applications.
- Formal Training/Certification in Middleware.
Work Experience (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience with a reputable Bank or Banking Software vendor. Banking industry experience is not essential, but will be an advantage.
- Experience working on Banking Application Development Projects.
- Hands on experience/working knowledge in at least 3 SDLC methodologies including waterfall and agile.
- Hands on/working knowledge of application and web servers.
- Hands on/working knowledge of unit/module/integration testing
- Hands on experience in Vendor Management
- Hands on/working knowledge of .Net, Java programming languages.
- Hands on/working knowledge of encryption controls.
- Sound understanding of API management
- Hands on/working knowledge in IT Architecture Design
- Well versed in Application CIS Controls
- Hands on/working knowledge in Customer Channel/Core Banking/ESB development/upgrade/migration.
- Basic skills on Unix (Shell Scripting)/ Windows (batch Roles, security management) is expected.
- Exposure to reporting tools like Crystal reports
- Exposure to programming and basic administration in RDBMS (Oracle and SQL Server)
- Exposure to parameters in web server like IIS, Websphere
- Exposure to unit/module/integration testing
- Exposure to documentation skills
- Familiarity with Messaging Middle Ware like IBM MQ, SOA (web services), File based integration
