Second Mate

We are currently seeking a skilled Second Mate to join our team in El-Fujairah, UAE. As a Second Mate, you will assist the Captain and First Mate in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. You will be responsible for maintaining navigation equipment, supervising deckhands, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

• Assist in the overall management and operation of the vessel.
• Maintain navigation equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
• Supervise deckhands and ensure their adherence to safety protocols.
• Communicate with the Captain, First Mate, and crew to ensure smooth operations.
• Keep accurate records of cargo, supplies, and fuel consumption.
• Monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to the route as needed.
• Conduct regular safety drills and train crew members on emergency procedures.
• Inspect life-saving equipment regularly to ensure its proper functioning.

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Second Mate on a vessel.
• Valid Second Mate Certificate issued by an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of navigation equipment and maritime regulations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi is an advantage).
• Must be physically fit to carry out duties such as lifting heavy objects and climbing ladders.
• Valid seafarer s medical certificate.

Preference will be given to candidates who are Indian nationals or have experience working with Indian crews. Accommodation will not be provided for this role.
