Musical Theatre Performance Instructor Pool-Part-Time
This position offers a part‑time, temporary faculty role in the Musical Theatre Program at Fullerton College. The instructor will teach courses in Musical Theatre Performance Technique, Auditioning for Musical Theatre, Applied Voice, and Beginning/Intermediate Movement for Musical Theatre. The first teaching assignment begins February 2, 2026, and the schedule will be arranged based on course availability and student needs.

- Work closely with the Musical Theatre Program Coordinator and the Theatre Arts Department coordinator.
- Teach courses in Musical Theatre Performance Technique, Auditioning for Musical Theatre, Applied Voice, and Beginning/Intermediate Movement for Musical Theatre.
- Prepare and practice repertoire for ensemble and applied student performances.
- Assist students in recital rehearsals and help them perform musically with piano or tracks for public performances.
- Maintain a friendly, supportive atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
- Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance.
- Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities OR equivalent qualifications.
- Valid California teaching credential for community college in the appropriate subject area OR equivalent professional experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
- Commitment to diversity and demonstration of sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Extensive knowledge of musical theatre repertoire and industry trends.
- Teaching experience in one or more of the instructional areas listed above.
- Comprehensive understanding of stylistic and technical nuances across musical theatre eras.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and expertise in culturally responsive teaching in theatre arts.
- LMS experience/training (Canvas) and experience collaborating with faculty and community leaders on inclusive curricula and productions.
