the department of computer science at csu fullerton invites applications for its part-time lecturer pool.

we welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and student centered to teach in the following subject areas:

• web or mobile application programming
• cybersecurity
• cloud computing
• high performance computing
• computer graphics
• computer networks
• machine intelligence
• bioinformatics
• programming languages and compilers
• algorithms
• operating systems
• software engineering

this is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified will be contacted when positions are available.

appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

required qualifications

• ms degree in computer science or closely related field, or bs degree in computer science or closely related field with at least 2 years industry experience in computer science field, and demonstrable experience in the appropriate field.
• ideal candidates will be able to document their excellent academic preparation in computer science or closely related field along with current experience in industry
• proficiency in online teaching strategies
• candidates should have prior teaching experience at the university level
• candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.

preferred qualifications

• a ph.d. In computer science or related field
• preference will be given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
• preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities
