Position Summary

Perform EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) tests and measurements of electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment and subsystems using standard and precision measurement instrumentation for the EMI department. EMI:

Core Responsibilities
  • Test Setup – Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment.
  • Perform Testing – Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data.
  • Data Processing – After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager.
  • Lab Maintenance / Post‑Test Breakdown – Physically remove test items, maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, and organizing supplies.
  • Other – Perform other duties as assigned.
Core Requirements
  • Under general supervision; can perform certain recurring work independently.
  • Regular interaction with clients.
  • Intermediate interpretation and analysis of test results.
  • Able to troubleshoot and rework standard tests.
  • Advanced understanding of DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies; understanding of RF measurement techniques and the use of various RF measurement instruments (specifically Spectrum Analyzers, EMI receivers, Network Analyzers, Power Meters); working knowledge of basic safety practices.
  • Able to use all standard EMI equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; able to use TILE (Total Integrated Laboratory Environment) test software; able to construct AC/DC circuits; basic MS Office skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed; this may be overnight or over several days.
Minimum Education And Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a Technician.
  • Experience with electronics and RF is required.
Working Conditions

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
