Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM;

About the Position: The Information Technology (IT) Services team seeks an exceptional systems administrator to serve as the Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect. The role requires a strong ethical practice, commitment to inclusivity, and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will implement and support cloud services across various computing environments, lead deployments of highly available enterprise and web‑scale software, and manage data center‑to‑cloud migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support cloud services across a variety of computing environments.
  • Lead deployment of highly available and fault‑tolerant enterprise and web‑scale software and facilitate data center‑to‑cloud migrations.
  • Design decoupled cloud infrastructure, implement proactive scaling, and ensure disaster recovery, business continuity, and cloud security, including serverless infrastructure.
  • Analyze cloud cost structures and optimize resources.
  • Automate infrastructure using scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or equivalents and configuration management tools.
  • Apply architectural frameworks such as SOA and DDD, and leverage infrastructure‑as‑code platforms.
  • Integrate third‑party SaaS providers into multi‑vendor environments and manage cloud resources for availability.
  • Maintain directory services, cloud identity resources, and administer server environments across virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Support IaaS and PaaS offerings for campus divisions and departments; administer the campus‑wide cloud environment.
  • Coordinate with campus technicians on upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and scheduled downtime.
  • Plan, test, and deploy cloud applications to ensure performance and reliability.

Essential

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems, server administration, scripting languages, virtualization technologies, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex systems and infrastructure solutions.
  • Advanced project management skills for multi‑project, large, or complex initiatives.
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to mentor or oversee others.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to convey technical knowledge and influence stakeholders.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including a criminal records check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Cloud Architect.
  • Industry‑recognized certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Dev Ops practices in cloud environments.
