Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position Summary:
Provides interpersonal, technical and manual nursing care, within the scope of practice as outlined by the California Board of Nursing under the direction of a licensed physician or Registered Nurse.

Essential Duties:

• Performs basic health and psychosocial assessments.
• Provides input to and implements medical care plans as ordered.
• Performs nursing tasks, procedures, and interventions authorized by a valid physician’s order.
• Collects and processes specimens for testing per physician orders.
• Collects, documents and reports patient data, care and treatment, and health status in a timely and accurate manner.
• Receives physician orders and administers all medications and treatments within scope of practice and agency procedure.
• Maintains safe, hygienic environment within medical facilities.
• Provides patient education.
• Safely and properly uses all medical equipment.
• Ensure patients fulfill all outside medical appointments, transporting as necessary.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain valid California Vocational Nurse License.
• BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers and Certificate of Blood Withdrawal from a California BVNPT - approved provider within sixty days of hire.

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
• Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Salary Range: $28.00 - $31.11 per hour
