Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Fullerton, CA | Acute Care Hospital

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform sterile vaginal exams independently and without supervision as a core clinical requirement
• Conduct triage assessments for obstetric patients in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care and clinical findings using electronic health record systems
• Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
• Commit to working weekends, including every other weekend and potentially more to meet unit need; must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

• Active, unencumbered RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending licenses not accepted
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (hard stop — must have passing status)
• ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; 2+ years preferred (minimum 1.5 years is a hard stop)
• Demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently without supervision
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate

• 2 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Prior experience floating to Mother Baby or similar postpartum units
• Familiarity with Meditech charting systems in addition to Epic
