Installation Technician, Security Systems Installation
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technicians to install, test, maintain, and repair security and fire alarm systems for commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of electrical and fire codes. Preferred candidates should have experience with FCI Gamewell systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:Install, test, and repair fire alarm and security systems according to customer specifications and code requirements.
Consult with clients to assess needs and recommend appropriate systems and solutions.
Provide accurate cost estimates and system recommendations based on building layout and client needs.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and building plans to determine proper system placement.
Run wiring, install hardware components, and connect electrical wiring.
Inspect and test installed systems, including batteries and circuits, to ensure functionality and compliance.
Replace defective or outdated hardware and components as needed.
Ensure all work meets current electrical and fire safety codes and standards.
Educate and demonstrate system operations to clients and end users.
Perform additional duties and maintenance tasks as assigned.
RequiredSkills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of fire alarm and security systems installation and maintenance.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and building plans.
Knowledge of applicable electrical and fire codes and regulations.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational/technical training in electronics or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire and/or security alarm system installation preferred.
On-the-job training may be provided for qualified candidates.
Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
Must be physically capable of installing wiring and system hardware.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
