Capital Programs and Facilities Management (CPFM) within the Division of Administration and Finance is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining a safe, sustainable, and high-quality learning and working environment for the campus community. Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the University’s facilities including land use planning, capital improvement, project development, construction, as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services, landscape services, building trade services, mechanical and electrical, and recycling services.

We seek an exceptional individual to join our Building Service Engineers team as the Building Service Engineer. Under the general supervision of the Mechanical Trades Operations Manager, or their designee, the Building Service Engineer will operate, maintain, service, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect the mechanical equipment and components related to the Central Plant, including the trigeneration plant, absorption chillers, and turbine. Operate, maintain, service, install, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect a full range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical, and related systems and components throughout the campus facilities.

This is a key position which cares for campus buildings and systems to support the University's mission, vision, and values in higher education. This position will interact with various groups of individuals. The Building Service Engineer works well in a team environment and understands the balance of sharing duties, taking ownership, and taking the initiative to complete tasks as needed. This position takes pride in every aspect of their work to create and maintain an excellent learning environment at Cal State University Fullerton.

Two years of journey-level experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler, heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment and systems, or the equivalent combination of formal coursework in mechanical technology and hands‑on experience.
