Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $18.00/hr (actual pay will be based on skills and experience).

At the Arthur Center, we inspire community health and wellness! We are headquartered in Mexico, MO and serve the Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, and Monroe counties with a workforce of close to 200 people across five locations.

Job Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Front Desk Specialist to assist our Behavioral Health and Primary Care consumers and staff by providing excellent customer service, gathering financial and demographic data, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, and making appointment reminder calls. Arthur Center Community Health is committed to providing exceptional physical and mental health services to our community.

Key Skills & Responsibilities
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient in computer use and able to master an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to schedule patients, enter and update demographics, manage accounts, and call patients for reminders.
  • Learn and understand additional services such as dental outpatient, CPR adult/youth, and residential programs.
  • Work independently and effectively in an interruptive environment.
  • Answer patient questions and phone calls regarding services and providers.
  • Maintain knowledge of office equipment (scanners, credit card machines, phones, copier).
  • Understand payer requirements (DMH, Self‑Pay, Private Insurance, Medicaid, Medicare) and verify patient insurance.
  • Assign proper payer to patient encounters and collect amounts owed for all services.
  • Assist providers and other staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or COO.
