Purpose & Summary

Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day and our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Pharmacy Technician duties as outlined by the Pharmacy Manager, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately.
  • Follow SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists and improve patient health.
  • Assist with inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stock, and waiting‑bin inventories.
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience by showing empathy, offering immunizations, and resolving patient problems.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, traveling to stores in the market as required.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and CVS policies.
  • Deliver additional patient services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, off‑site clinic staffing) when trained and permitted by law.
Additional Immunization Responsibilities (when applicable)
  • Obtain Technician Immunizer status through required licensure and training.
  • Educate patients about vaccines, refer to pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.
  • Monitor and report adverse reactions.
  • Collect and document patient information for each vaccination.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Meet state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, licensure/certification.
  • Minimum age 16 if not specified by board.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment if not specified by board.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification as required for the state.
Essential Functions
  • Regular attendance including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within designated timeframe.
  • Attention and Focus: concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.
  • Customer Service & Team Orientation: friendly help, observe patient reactions.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    verbal and written, active listening.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: calculate dosage, supply needs.
  • Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best solution.
  • Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, standing, dexterity, vision, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs.
Pay Range

$16.00 – $24.00 per hour (base hourly rate). Weekly hours: 20. Part‑time.
