Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The Medication Technician will be responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents/patients in a safe and effective manner, ensuring compliance with state regulations and facility policies. Key Responsibilities:

- Administer medications to residents/patients as prescribed, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of medication administration, ensuring accuracy in dosage and timing.
- Monitor and report any side effects or adverse reactions to medications to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Maintain proper medication storage, keeping the environment clean, organized, and secure.
- Support healthcare staff in maintaining up-to-date medication records and resident charts.
- Participate in medication management meetings and contribute to care plans as needed.
- Engage with residents/patients to provide education about their medications and address any questions or concerns.
- Perform basic health assessments, including monitoring vital signs as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident/patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medication administration.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medication Technician or similar preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in medication administration, is desirable.
- Knowledge of medications, their effects, and proper administration techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents/patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Background check and drug screening required.
