** Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

** We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
* Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma.
* ** Must be Florida Certified Law Enforcement Officer
*** One year of law enforcement experience.
* Must meet the requirements of Chapter 943, Florida Statute.
Bonus points if you have:
* Two years of active and continuous military or other appropriate public contact experience may substitute for the required experience.
* Appropriate college course work or vocational training may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis at the rate of 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university, or 720 classroom hours from a vocational or technical school.
* Preference will be given to applicants with Florida Law Enforcement certification and one year of law enforcement experience.

The
** TSC Police Officer - SRO
** performs a wide variety of law enforcement activities specifically related to the school environment during the school year. Tasks are primarily service oriented and include working with and mentoring students, disseminating information, arbitrating disputes, and helping through referrals, property protection, crime prevention, investigative, and other public safety services. Candidate performs duties in accordance with Florida State Statutes and established departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
The candidate must be able to work without close supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Work is under the general supervision of a sergeant. The candidate must be a State of Florida certified law enforcement officer and be certified as a School Resource Officer (SRO), or willing to attend the training to become SRO certified.
