OverviewPatient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.
Responsibilities- Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, dietary preferences, or inquiries about additional selections.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulator agency standards (federal, state, JCAHO); adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies per HIPAA.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
- Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
- Assist dietitians, including monitoring patients on liquid diets or with specific calorie counts as appropriate.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.

Gadsden Regional Medical Center, 1007 Goodyear Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35903. Online applications accepted only.
- Schedule:
Full-time and part-time options. Week 1:
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 6:00 am – 6:30 pm. Week 2:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:00 am – 7:00 pm. Half day Thursday. Must be available to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. More details upon interview.
- Pay Range: $11.50 per hour to $20.50 per hour.
