Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base Pay Range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, entering patient and drug information and processing prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Recommend items for sale and recommend trade‑up and/or companion items.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records; check in and price merchandise as required.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication and checking for possible interactions.
• Adhere to the Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policy for all prescription dispensing activities.
• Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Construct and maintain displays, complete resets and revisions, and assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies and procedures.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service and suggested sale of promotional photo products.
• Monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, and deliver orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate; acquire continuing education credits and maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
