Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift resource pool position requiring compact or SC RN license and telemetry experience.

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained before start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required, 1 year considered case by case
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication competency tests on first day of orientation
• Community hospital experience preferred

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Resource Pool position based at one campus with potential to float to the main campus as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call requirement tied to holiday coverage (1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call)
• Floating required within scope to other units at both campuses
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit with cardiac monitoring responsibilities
• Schedule and float assignments communicated in advance so RN knows location ahead of time
• Must be able to pass a fit test onsite, which may require facial shaving
• Attendance policy in place; missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront, as requests made after initial submission will not be considered
• Does not accept local candidates; must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
