This role is hybrid (3 days a week) or in-office. Open to offices in Atlanta, GA;
Columbus, OH;
Jackson, MI; and Orlando, FL.
This Civil/Structural Designer role will perform design advanced functions requiring knowledge of Steel Design and Detailing and 3D Modeling Detailing, industry and clients standards and document control processes/procedures in support of creating and modifying deliverables. This person will have expertise in steel and will provide technical guidance and direction to other less experienced designers.
Relevant Experience
:
- Experienced in Reinforced Concrete Foundations and Structural Steel Drawings Creation Design. Plans and Details
- Knowledge of foundation and steel structure components
- Previous experience in detailing
- Previous substation design experience is desired
- Design Concrete Foundations and Structural Steel Plan Drawings based on available equipment, electrical layout information and structural design output and guidance from engineer.
- Create foundation and steel details based on available equipment, electrical layout information and structural design output and guidance from engineer.
- Create steel detail (fabrication) drawings including BOM.
- Apply knowledge of project standards, systems (including BIM or Inventor), document control, department and company policies and procedures.
- Proactively apply knowledge of the Quality Program relative to deliverables. Support continuous improvement of guides and standards. Review design inputs to ensure deliverables comply with the specific codes and standards suitable for the project.
- Broaden the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve design methods, processes and procedures used to accomplish deliverables. Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. May develop less complex design concepts and create project design deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. May develop detailed material quantities and estimates.
- Coordinate deliverables with others within the team or teams involved on the same project. May be responsible for support of project finalization including consolidation of records for as-built drawings or information to take off as-built quantities.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- Structural Design experience
- 3D experience – BIM or Inventor
