The Site Manager, Physical Therapist is directly responsible to the Director, and/or his designee, and has the responsibility for overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, volunteers, and students in their area of the physical therapy and sports medicine program, department/facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND

ACCOUNTABILITIES Department
  • Patient Evaluations
      Responsible for the evaluation of all patients referred to physical therapy and sports medicine. Responsible for completion and submission of all reports pertaining to the evaluation. Advises referral sources department/facility action with the case referred.
Treatment Quality
  • Ensures that Physical Therapy Practices are consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and Standards of Practice policy in this manual.
    • Treats patients of all ages (e.g., infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, elderly, ages 0–120 years), race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice.
    • Demonstrates respect and understanding of the patient’s right to treatment and right to involvement in treatment decisions. Patient centric shared decision making.
    • Practices ethical responsibility based on the cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs of the patients served as applicable by law.
  • Demonstrates treatment skills that are rooted in evidence-based practice guidelines while balancing both patient and provider expectations and needs.
  • Confers with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient and to keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modification, and/or progress.
Treatment Quantitative
  • Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility.
  • Practices caseload management as it pertains to NS, CXL and reschedules. Provides appropriate visits per referral, including frequency, duration based on POC determined with referring provider. Demonstrates the ability to manage the episode of care using both HEP and clinic visits
  • Billing/CPT or RVU matches the time spent with patient, within department standards.
  • Records and Reports:
    • Prepares and submits department/facility reports, assuring confidentiality of all records:
        Evaluation reports/summaries. Discharge reports/summaries. Progress reports to referring physicians and agencies. Daily notes completed in a timely fashion while supporting medical necessity Special reports as requested by the Director and or Manager
  • Management:Works with HR to interview and select staff and timely completion of related documentation With HR Support, ensures performance appraisals define and measure a high level of work performance Completes introductory and annual performance appraisals based on observed behaviors and work outcomes supported by appropriate documentation Works to understand how staff are motivated and balance the needs of the organization and the individual.

    Sets expectations and rewards staff or achieving desired performance Initiates coaching, disciplinary action, and performance improvement planning to address violations of policy and/or poor performance Facilitates conflict resolution with staff with support as required based on circumstances Ensures that Orthopedic One’s mission, Patients First, is part of all management decisions and interventions.
  • Orient and Train Staff:Orients new staff, ensuring they know the purpose of the organization, their department and position Ensures that employees have resources, tools, feedback, assistance and training needed to achieve desired performance including productivity and qualitative expectations. Provides effective and timely on the job training such that performance objectives are clear, staff members have knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively Builds learning into work performed such that staff gains increasing understanding of how and why work is performed Instruction and information provided to staff results in complete understanding Educates staff on all applicable new or established policies, procedures, and expectations.
