Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. The position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence or when working opposing shifts, and will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.
Compensation Pay Range$10.45 – $18.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses or premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
Essential Job Functions- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute customer service programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring they stay current on individual training.
- Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner, and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
- Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and friendly, refunds are issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is processed or staged correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks to completion.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, obtain approvals for changes or deviations, and clock in/out accordingly.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying/securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits, securing building and delivery vehicles, and managing security alarms.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
