Job Description:

The Financial Service Center supports seventeen departments within UF’s Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). This position will process credit card (pcard) expenses, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and travel requests. This will include ensuring allowability and compliance of the purchases, securing proper documentation, and inputting information into mandatory software. Each purchase you help process helps feed the world and secure natural environments.

Duties:
  • Communication – Strong verbal and written skills will be needed to ensure positive and professional communication with faculty, staff, students, and vendors. Will need to successfully navigate the ticketing system, email communications, and other communication systems as designated by administration. Virtual and in-person conversations will be expected.
  • Process Financial Transactions – This position is the backbone of operations as it processes the accounts payable for assigned departments. The incumbent will work within a team to ensure the following items are processed: purchase credit cards (pcards), requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements and travel requests. As the position grows, basic domestic travel may also be processed. Review, analysis and accurate data entry will be required within selected software.

    As software applications adapt and change, this position will be required to learn new skills to accommodate new procedures. This is completed through professional and open communication. The selected candidate will need to navigate UF financial systems to verify allowable funds are available, upload appropriate documentation and to ensure compliancy is adhered to.
  • Team Effort – The Financial Service Center fosters a team effort. This includes a professional and supportive environment. This member will be expected to attend and contribute to trainings. Travel may be required. There may be times where staff is requested to contribute to a special project or do other duties as assigned.

$18 - $20 per hour;
Commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.

Preferred:
  • Must possess critical thinking skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams programs.
  • Skilled with virtual communication.
  • Skilled in accurate data entry.
  • Knowledge of People Soft functions, SAP Concur, OnBase, Adobe, and myUFMarketplace.
  • Ability to learn UF policy and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, record-keeping and organizational abilities required.
  • Easily adapts to new and updated software.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
