Job Summary

This position is the first point of contact for the Healthy Start program. The responsibilities include contacting clients and scheduling and completing initial assessments face-to-face with them in their home. This position is responsible for providing referrals for specific services and registering them for continued Healthy Start services by completing the necessary documentation needed to assign them to a Family Care Coordinator.

Other administrative duties as listed below. Funding for this position is provided by the Healthy Start contract to improve pregnancy outcomes.

Essential functions include answering telephones, scheduling appointments, taking and relaying messages, maintaining electronic tracking tools, managing inventory, organizing office supplies, providing direct support to clients, and completing initial assessments face-to-face with clients in their homes or alternate locations as required by the Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines and core performance measures.

Qualifications

Associate's degree required, preferably in human service-related field. Two years' experience working with families preferred. Valid Florida driver license and insurable by agency's current insurance carrier. Must successfully clear Level II Background Screen. Must possess an acceptable driving record and have reliable transportation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of community resources
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective public speaking skills
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee must also frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is regularly required to bend/stoop and kneel. Repetitive motion is also required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
