Job Summary /

Description:

WCJB TV20 News seeks a talented and energetic meteorologist/journalist to join our award-winning team. We are looking for a qualified Meteorologist who can prepare and deliver weather forecasts and weather information, as well as report as an MMJ for our news segments on WCJB TV20.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts
• Prepare graphics to support the weather presentation
• Conversational On-air presentation
• Flexible schedule for severe weather scenarios
• Report stories for our news segments as an MMJ
• Post content to website and station social media platforms

• A Bachelor's degree in meteorology or equivalent practical experience
• Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist (amount will vary depending on specific position)
• Strong on-air communication skills
• Ability to work as part of an on-air weather team and part of a news team
• Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation
• Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast weather
• Ability to shoot, edit, write, and produce news stories for our shows
• Proficient in social media platforms
