Overview

The Department of Ophthalmology at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville seeks a full‑time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at the non‑tenure level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The position involves exemplary patient care, teaching, and, if desired, clinical research within a varied academic eye practice.

Our small but growing group provides a wide array of eye care services—including cornea, glaucoma, anterior segment surgery, retina diseases, uveitis, ocular tumors, oculoplastic and orbital surgery, neuro‑ophthalmology, contact lenses, low vision, and electrophysiology—at a single location with a dedicated surgery center.

Both experienced ophthalmologists and recent graduates are welcome. Appointment will be through UF Health, with benefits that include health care, retirement, and paid vacation/sick leave. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellence in patient care as a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in ophthalmology.
  • Engage in clinical research as desired, contributing to academic progress.
  • Collaborate with a multi‑specialty team to deliver high‑quality eye care services.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO, completed residency training in ophthalmology.
  • Board Eligible or Certified (BE/BC) preferred.
