Job Description:

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Florida ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in French and Medieval Studies to begin August 16, 2026. This is a one-year nine-month non‑tenure accruing position with the possibility of renewal for one additional year.

Responsibilities:
1) Teach 2 courses per semester in French language, literature, and culture, including courses focused on the medieval period (some of which may be taught in English).
2) Participate in service, including advising students, contributing to departmental events, and collaborating with the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies.
3) Engage in professional development and scholarly activities.
4) Explore and implement innovative pedagogical techniques.
