The University of Florida and the Norman Fixel Institute are seeking rising star faculty researchers for full‑time endowed faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, available on tenure or non‑tenure track. Candidates should be late‑stage Assistant or Associate Professors who have demonstrated early success in establishing independent research programs, including securing independent grant funding, and who are ready to launch the next phase of their academic careers.
Positions offer dedicated research space and generous start‑up packages. Researchers in clinical, translational, or foundational science fields are encouraged to apply. Final rank, track, and academic home will be based on qualifications and alignment with the mission of the institute, college, and university.
The Norman Fixel Institute features a campus dedicated to interdisciplinary care and neuromodulation, with an integrated clinic that serves as an “all under one roof” interdisciplinary clinical‑research center. Specialty areas include Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and related diseases. The campus provides thousands of square feet of research space and supports collaboration across disciplines.
Faculty will benefit from close collaboration with the McKnight Brain Institute (MBI), the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (CTSI and CTRND), and UF Health's Neuromedicine Hospital. UF is a top‑tier research university with $1.26 billion in annual research funding and is consistently ranked among the nation's top 10 public universities.
Minimum Requirements- Applicants must possess an M.D., D.O., M.D.
-Ph.D., or Ph.D. in a related field. - Candidates with a scholarly focus area in one or more of the following five areas:
- Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and other movement disorders
- Alzheimer's disease, memory, and dementia
- ALS and other neuromuscular disorders
- Traumatic brain injury
- Multiple sclerosis
- Success in obtaining extramural funding is highly desired.
