Job Description

The David and Wanda Brown Center for Leadership & Service (BCLS) provides opportunities for students to contribute to a thriving global community through leadership development, community‑engaged learning, and positive change.

Responsibilities
  • Uphold the mission, vision, values, and policies of UF, Division of Student Life, Career and Integrative Partnerships portfolio, and BCLS
  • Facilitate group volunteer experiences on and off campus
  • Collaborate with student volunteers and community members
  • Plan and facilitate pre‑service meetings
  • Educate participants on each service project’s objectives and community contexts
  • Ensure that safety measures are followed throughout service experiences
  • Facilitate group reflections
  • Facilitate conflict resolution strategies
  • Take necessary action in the event of an emergency
  • Complete appropriate follow‑up activities, evaluations, and documentation
  • Promote BCLS during campus and community events, classroom settings, and via student organizations
  • Perform administrative duties including logging student information, developing resources, and other projects

The Brown Center for Leadership and Service is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Site Leader would work approximately 10‑15 hours per week leading service projects on and off campus and recruiting students via campus events and tabling opportunities. Service and outreach activities may take place outside of regular business hours (weekends/evenings).
